"We shape our buildings... Thereafter, our buildings shape us"

1850 Stone mason William Loftes ventured out of Adelaide with the vision to build an inn on a hill, near the largest tree he could find and become a publican. The newly named One Tree Hill Inn served as a stopover for horse & cart travellers, drovers, gold miners and drop-ins after a drink, feed, or bed for the evening.

During its past 172 years the inn has become the towns name sake and served as a small homestead for a few local cattle, sheep and vigneron farming families.

Today it's home to a small local family passionate about ethically grown produce as well as embracing our towns past and preserving an important piece of its history.
